Oliver Lake is an American jazz saxophonist and composer born in Marianna, Arkansas, who emerged in the late 1960s and is associated with avant-garde and free jazz. His musical style blends free improvisation, blues-rooted phrasing and composed structures, and his career evolved from work with the Black Artists Group to ensemble-based projects such as the World Saxophone Quartet, contributing to the development of late 20th-century American avant-garde jazz.
