György Lehel was a Hungarian conductor and flautist who began his career in the mid-20th century within the classical music tradition. He specialised in orchestral repertoire and championed Hungarian composers and 20th-century works, and his recordings and performances contributed to the dissemination of Hungarian classical music internationally.
