    Michel-Richard de Lalande was a French Baroque composer from Paris who established his career in the late 17th century as a court musician at the royal chapel of Louis XIV, composing primarily sacred and ceremonial music. He wrote grands motets, psalms, petits motets and orchestral suites that combined choral grandeur with instrumental colour, and his output contributed to the repertoire and performance practice of French Baroque sacred and ceremonial music.
