Nigel Ayers is a British experimental musician and sound artist who began working in the late 1970s and formed the project Nocturnal Emissions around 1980, operating within industrial, ambient and electronic genres. His work encompasses musique concrète, tape collage and electroacoustic experimentation, evolving through participation in the DIY cassette-culture and independent underground networks and contributing to practices in experimental and industrial music.
