    Adrian Belew (born 1949 in Covington, Kentucky) is an American guitarist, singer and songwriter known for his experimental approach to the guitar, extensive use of effects and incorporation of unconventional sounds across progressive, art rock and pop genres. He has worked as a session and touring musician with Frank Zappa, David Bowie, Talking Heads and King Crimson, and has released more than a dozen solo albums exploring avant‑garde, instrumental and pop themes.
