Matthias Loibner is an Austrian hurdy-gurdy player and instrument maker who began performing and recording in the late 1990s, working across folk, early music and contemporary experimental scenes. He blends traditional and baroque repertoire with extended techniques, bespoke instrument design and cross-genre collaborations spanning contemporary classical, folk and electronic contexts.
