Peter Philips

Peter Philips was an English composer and organist of the late Renaissance who left England in the 1580s and established his career on the Continent composing in sacred and secular vocal genres as well as for keyboard. His surviving output—madrigals, motets and keyboard pieces—reflects a blend of English polyphonic technique and continental stylistic influences encountered during his exile.
