Tomeka Reid

Tomeka Reid is an American cellist, composer and improviser based in Chicago, active from the 2000s and working across jazz, free improvisation and contemporary classical music. Her work blends composed and improvised forms, often employing extended techniques and chamber-jazz settings, and she has been involved in collaborative projects, education and curatorial activity within the AACM-influenced avant-garde scene.
