The Monty Alexander Trio
The Monty Alexander Trio are a jazz group formed in the early 1960s, originating from Jamaica and later active across North America and Europe. They blend bebop, swing and mainstream jazz with Caribbean rhythms such as reggae and calypso, evolving over decades to incorporate Latin influences and popular-song repertoires while emphasising piano-led interplay within the trio format.
