Opera Australia Orchestra

The Opera Australia Orchestra is the resident pit and symphony orchestra of Opera Australia, formed to accompany the company's operatic and theatrical productions and based primarily in Sydney. Its repertoire spans operatic, ballet and musical theatre scores alongside concert works, and it has adapted to both traditional and contemporary staging practices while contributing to Australia's operatic and theatrical cultural life.
