Pierre Bernac

Pierre Bernac was a French baritone born in 1899 who began his career in the 1920s as a recitalist specialising in the French mélodie. He became closely associated with composer Francis Poulenc, premiering and regularly performing many of Poulenc's songs and later codified performance practice for French art song through his writings and teaching.
