Emmanuel Nunes

Emmanuel Nunes was a Portuguese composer born in Lisbon in 1941 who became active in European contemporary classical music from the 1960s onwards. His music is characterised by rigorous attention to form, complex rhythmic and timbral organisation and exploration of spatialisation, drawing on serial and post-serial techniques while developing a distinct modernist language across chamber, orchestral and electroacoustic works.
