Michiyo Yagi

八木美知依 is a Japanese koto player and composer who began her career grounded in traditional koto repertoire before expanding into contemporary and experimental music. She combines traditional koto techniques with free improvisation, jazz, electronic and noise elements, using extended techniques and cross-genre collaborations to broaden the instrument's sonic possibilities within modern improvised and contemporary music scenes.
