Simply Red are an English soul and pop band formed in Manchester in 1985. Their music blends blue-eyed soul, pop and elements of jazz and reggae, and over the 1990s and 2000s they incorporated more electronic and dance influences while continuing to emphasise melodic balladry within British pop and adult contemporary contexts.
