Francisco Tárrega

Francisco Tárrega was a Spanish composer and classical guitarist born in Villarreal, Castellón, in 1852 who established his career in the late 19th-century Romantic tradition. He composed studies and character pieces, made transcriptions of keyboard works for the guitar and developed techniques and pedagogical methods that helped to shape the modern classical guitar repertoire and performance practice.
