Colin Jacobsen is an American violinist, composer and artistic director who founded the string ensemble Brooklyn Rider and began his professional career in the early 2000s, working primarily in contemporary classical and chamber music. He combines classical technique with improvisation and influences from folk, jazz and popular music, frequently commissioning new works and collaborating across genres to broaden chamber-music audiences and repertoire.
