Chris Speed

Chris Speed is an American jazz saxophonist and clarinettist who began his career in the 1990s and became active in the New York downtown improvising scene, working across jazz, avant-garde and chamber-music contexts. His work blends composed and improvised approaches, drawing on elements of free improvisation, folk and rock and spanning small-group and ensemble-based projects within the contemporary creative-music scene.
