    Denis Matsuev is a Russian classical pianist, born in Irkutsk in 1975, who trained at the Central Music School and the Moscow Conservatory and began an international performing career in the 1990s, focusing on solo piano and concerto repertoire. He specialises in Romantic and Russian repertoire, frequently programmes large-scale virtuosic works, transcriptions and contemporary pieces, and has been active in festival direction and orchestral collaborations, reflecting a career rooted in the Russian piano school and engagement with international classical music contexts.
