Karl Ridderbusch

Karl Ridderbusch was a German operatic bass from Bochum, born in 1932, who began his professional career in the late 1950s and became closely associated with Wagner and the German Romantic repertoire. He was noted for his low register and portrayals of major bass roles in works by Wagner and Richard Strauss at leading German opera houses and international festivals, and he also appeared frequently in concert and studio recordings of operatic and sacred works.
