Butch Miles

Butch Miles was an American jazz drummer who began his professional career in the 1960s, working primarily within the swing and mainstream jazz traditions. His playing emphasised strong timekeeping, a propulsive swing feel and versatile brush and stick technique, and he spent decades performing and recording in both big-band and small-group contexts, contributing to the preservation of swing drumming in modern jazz.
