László Lajtha

László Lajtha was a Hungarian composer, ethnomusicologist and conductor who began his career in the early 20th century, working in the classical tradition with a strong focus on folk-influenced music. He carried out extensive folk-song collecting across Hungary and neighbouring regions and integrated vernacular melodies and rhythms into his compositions, navigating between post-Romantic idioms and 20th-century modernist techniques.
