John McCabe

John McCabe was an English composer and pianist from Hoylake on the Wirral who began his career in the mid-20th century within the classical music tradition. His compositional output ranged across orchestral, chamber, choral and solo piano works, combining tonal and modernist techniques, and he was active as a performer, educator and programme director within the British classical scene.
