Errollyn Wallen is a Belize-born British composer and performer who moved to London as a child and established a career from the 1980s combining contemporary classical composition with elements of jazz and popular music. Her output encompasses chamber, orchestral, choral, operatic and solo vocal works that draw on Caribbean rhythmic and melodic influences as well as popular idioms, and her music often addresses social and personal themes while crossing boundaries between concert and theatrical contexts.
