Osvaldo Golijov is an Argentine-born composer from La Plata who began his career in the late 20th century and is primarily associated with contemporary classical music infused with Latin American and Jewish traditions. His music blends classical forms with tango, klezmer, Latin American folk and liturgical influences, frequently composed for voices and chamber ensembles and crossing boundaries between concert, film and sacred contexts.
