Michel Camilo

Michel Camilo is a Dominican pianist and composer from Santo Domingo who began his professional career in the 1970s after classical training and became associated with jazz and Latin jazz genres. His music combines classical technique with Afro-Caribbean rhythms and incorporates elements of jazz, Latin jazz, fusion and salsa, and he has performed and recorded in both small-group and larger orchestral settings throughout his career.
