Eduard Strauss

Eduard Strauss was an Austrian conductor and composer from Vienna, active from the 1850s into the early 20th century and associated with light dance music such as waltzes, polkas and marches. His work emphasised brisk, rhythmic dance pieces and he helped sustain the Strauss family's central place in Viennese social dance culture, later concentrating on conducting and arranging as his career progressed.
