Launy Grøndahl

Launy Grøndahl was a Danish composer and conductor from Copenhagen who began his musical career in the early 20th century as a violinist and later moved into conducting and composition within the classical tradition. His works combine late-Romantic orchestral language with lyrical melodies and occasional jazz-inflected rhythms, and he is particularly associated with a trombone concerto that has entered the brass repertoire.
