Cyril Rootham

Cyril Bradley Rootham (1875–1938) was an English composer, organist and teacher whose career was centred on choral and orchestral composition and on conducting and pedagogy within Cambridge's musical institutions. His music drew on late-Romantic harmonic language and the English choral tradition and included cantatas, anthems and orchestral pieces that featured in early 20th-century university and church repertoires.
