Richard Nunns (1945–2021) was a New Zealand musician and researcher who began his career in the late 20th century, specialising in taonga pūoro—traditional Māori wind and percussion instruments—and in experimental and ambient musical genres. He researched and helped revive taonga pūoro, integrating those instruments into contemporary, theatrical and film contexts and collaborating with Māori communities and other musicians to document playing techniques and cultural context.
