Arthur Baker is an American record producer, DJ and remixer from Boston, Massachusetts, who began his career in the late 1970s and was active in the early 1980s across electro, hip hop, dance and post-disco genres. His production and remixing made extensive use of synthesiser programming, drum machines and sampling to blend electro and dance with hip hop influences, and his career moved between studio production, club remixes and DJ projects that contributed to the crossover between club and hip hop cultures.
