Gavin Friday is an Irish singer-songwriter and composer from Dublin who began his career in the late 1970s as a founding member and frontman of the post-punk band the Virgin Prunes before establishing a solo career. His music has ranged from abrasive post-punk and gothic-tinged art rock to cabaret-influenced pop and orchestral soundtrack work, evolving to embrace theatrical and experimental elements and contributing to Dublin's alternative cultural scene as well as to film and theatre projects.
