Fred Waring & His Pennsylvanians

Fred Waring and His Pennsylvanians were an American choral and popular-music ensemble formed at Pennsylvania State University in 1918 that became a professional vocal group in the 1920s. Their repertoire combined polished choral arrangements, tight vocal harmonies and elements of big-band and jazz, and they were a regular presence on radio and later on television, helping to popularise choral-singing techniques in American broadcast variety programming.
