Min Xiao-Fen is a Chinese-born pipa player, vocalist and composer who began her career in China before relocating to the United States and working across traditional Chinese music, contemporary classical and jazz. Her music blends traditional pipa techniques with extended techniques, improvisation and electronic processing, and she frequently engages in cross-cultural collaborations that rework Chinese folk and classical repertoire within experimental, jazz and avant-garde contexts.
