Jochen Kowalski

Jochen Kowalski is a German countertenor who began his career in the former German Democratic Republic and was principally associated with opera houses in Berlin, performing opera, oratorio and concert repertoire. Specialising in Baroque and Classical opera and in art song, he has frequently taken roles written for high male voices and has been part of a wider late-20th-century interest in historical-performance practice within German opera production.
