Ronnie Mathews
Ronnie Mathews was an American jazz pianist from New York who began his professional career in the late 1950s and recorded both as a leader and as a sideman within hard bop and post-bop styles. His playing blended bebop-influenced improvisation with rhythmic comping, evolving through post-bop idioms over several decades and contributing to the New York jazz scene and to jazz education.
