Electronic are an English alternative dance band formed in Manchester in 1988 as a project that fused elements of indie rock and electronic music. Their sound blended synth-pop and guitar-driven songcraft with electronic production, evolving across the late 1980s and 1990s to encompass pop songwriting and collaborations with figures from the British pop scene, contributing to a crossover between indie rock and dance music.
