Heinrich August Marschner was a German composer of the early Romantic period, active from the 1810s and known for his operas and instrumental works. His music combines folk-influenced melodies, dramatic orchestration and darker Romantic themes, and he played a role in the development of German Romantic opera by bridging Classical forms with emerging Romantic expression.
