Deems Taylor

Deems Taylor was an American composer, music critic and commentator from New York City whose career began in the early 20th century and encompassed composition, journalism and broadcasting. His output included operas and orchestral pieces that blended late-Romantic and early-modern idioms, and he was active as a promoter and interpreter of contemporary music, providing spoken introductions for Walt Disney's Fantasia and working extensively in radio and print criticism.
