The New J.B.'s

The New J.B.'s are an American funk and soul ensemble that emerged in the early 1970s as a later incarnation of a prominent backing band in the US soul and funk scene. Characterised by tight, syncopated grooves, prominent horn arrangements and a heavy emphasis on rhythm, their recordings helped shape funk's rhythmic vocabulary and later became frequent sources for sampling in hip-hop and dance music.
