King Buzzo is the stage name of an American musician from Washington state who began his career in the early 1980s as frontman of the Melvins, a band associated with punk, sludge and doom-influenced heavy rock. His playing and songwriting combine abrasive, down‑tuned guitar tones, slow heavy rhythms and experimental noise elements, and across solo work, collaborations and side projects he moved from faster hardcore-rooted material toward slower, heavier and more experimental forms that have been significant within underground US rock scenes.
