Abdul Wadud

Abdul Wadud is an American cellist and composer who emerged in the early 1970s, associated with jazz, free improvisation and contemporary classical music. His work combines classical cello technique with extended techniques and improvisation, encompassing solo recordings, ensemble contributions and music for theatre and film, and has contributed to cross-genre dialogues within the American avant-garde.
