Art Taylor
Art Taylor was an American jazz drummer from Richmond, Virginia, who began his professional career in the late 1940s and became a prominent figure in the bebop and hard bop scenes. He was noted for his crisp, driving timekeeping and versatility in small-group and big-band settings, appearing on numerous recordings through the 1950s and 1960s and later organised workshops and contributed to oral-history projects documenting jazz practice.
