Ignaz Friedman was a Polish classical pianist and composer who began his career in the early 20th century. Known for his Romantic repertoire—particularly Chopin—and for his expressive use of rubato and nuanced dynamics, he also composed piano pieces and contributed to early recording and teaching traditions that informed interpretations of 19th-century piano music.
