Carl Perkins

Carl Perkins was an American singer-songwriter from Tiptonville, Tennessee, who emerged in the mid-1950s as a pioneer of rockabilly and rock and roll, recording for Sun Records in Memphis. Known for his driving slap-back guitar style and songs that blended country, blues and rhythm and blues, his work influenced later rock musicians and continued to intersect with country music throughout his career.
