Bjørn Bolstad Skjelbred is a Norwegian composer, conductor and educator who emerged in the contemporary music scene in the late 1990s, working primarily in contemporary classical and electroacoustic genres. His output spans chamber, orchestral and vocal works and is characterised by an interest in timbre, extended techniques and experimental formal approaches, and he has been active in Norway's new-music community through composition, conducting and teaching.
