Gewandhaus-Quartett

Gewandhaus-Quartett are a German string quartet formed in Leipzig in 1808 by members of the Gewandhaus Orchestra and are part of the classical chamber music tradition. Across their history they have performed repertoire spanning the Classical and Romantic periods and have incorporated contemporary works into their programmes, reflecting their ongoing role in Leipzig's musical life.
