Assif Tsahar is an Israeli-born saxophonist and improvising musician who moved to New York in the early 1990s and works primarily within free jazz and avant-garde improvisation. His work emphasises extended techniques and collective improvisation across tenor saxophone and bass clarinet, incorporates elements from experimental rock and world music, and has included running an independent label and curating projects that connect New York and international improvised-music scenes.
