Chad Smith

Chad Smith is an American drummer from Saint Paul, Minnesota who began his professional career in the 1980s and is best known for his long tenure with the rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, performing across funk rock, alternative rock and hard rock. His drumming style emphasises a strong backbeat and groove-oriented funk influence blended with big-room rock dynamics, and over decades he has expanded into studio work and side projects that explore hard rock and funk-inflected styles within contemporary rock culture.
