Mathias Eick is a Norwegian jazz trumpeter and composer from Furnes who came to prominence in the early 2000s after studying on the jazz programme in Trondheim, working both as a band member and as a solo artist within contemporary jazz and Nordic folk-influenced music. His work is characterised by lyrical, atmospheric trumpet lines and a blend of jazz improvisation with melodic and chamber-influenced arrangements, evolving across several recordings to encompass broader, more arranged textures.
