Jean-Baptiste Barrière

Jean-Baptiste Barrière was a French cellist and composer of the Baroque era, born in Bordeaux in 1707 and active in Paris during the first half of the 18th century. His surviving output centres on solo cello sonatas and chamber works that blend French ornamentation with Italianate forms, contributing to the development of the solo cello repertoire and signalling aspects of the emerging galant style.
